Metfin IP3509 is specifically formulated for the simultaneous cleaning and phosphating of iron and steel components in multi-stage phosphating plants. It produces a high performance amorphous phosphate coating that provides excellent corrosion resistance and greatly enhances the performance of applied paint finishes. Typical coating weights of 0.2 – 1.0 g/m² can be readily achieved at processing temperatures ranging from 17¬∞C – 70¬∞C.

Metfin IP3509 can also be used to efficiently clean zinc and aluminium substrates making it suitable for treating components comprised of mixed metals without the need for complete disassembly or multi-stage treatments. It is fully compatible with the Metfin Detergent Additives range which can be used to further enhance the performance of the system.

Metfin IP3509 does not contain molybdate-based accelerators or heavy metals making it safer to use and more environmentally friendly than many conventional alternatives.

Metfin IP3509 meets the requirements of the BS 3189 Type 4 and Def Stan 03 Class 4.
